Alisa's Priorities
Tarrant County is one of the fastest growing counties in the nation, and that growth puts pressure on all the services the county delivers. It puts pressure on our capital infrastructure, our roads and bridges, our public buildings, our jails, and our courts. It puts pressure on our social service programs, our health programs, our hospital district, and our child protection programs. My priorities include:

Why Alisa?I have spent three decades shining light in the darkest corners of southeast Tarrant County. During that time, I have held elected officials and governmental staff accountable, resulting in both incremental and immediate change in processes and policy.
Right now what we hear from those in a position to do something is:
The larger failure is systemic. Unaffordable housing and politics that have treated mental illness, not as the health crisis it is, but as a crime. It’s time to do something about a system that’s rigged against so many people in our community. But nothing will change until we stop electing do-nothing politicians who refuse to step up to the challenges Tarrant County residents face. People need a true advocate, with her sleeves rolled up, already doing the work. I believe there can be a Tarrant County that shows compassion for the vulnerable, that maintains a balanced budget while providing services to a fast-growing county population. My Tarrant County, the one of opportunity and hope, the one that reveals the best of us when things are at their worst, is the Tarrant County I will work to create. |
